You will love this rose. I might pot it up into a 2-5 gal pot and babysit it until Fall before you put it into the ground. Here, China roses are some of the easiest.

You can plant it anytime in your growing zone. Left alone it will get very large. It is a no-care rose. It will love fertilizer and watering, but it will grow pretty much no matter what. Just make sure it gets enough water the first few weeks. This time of year that shouldn't be any problem.

Looking at images, and I think I may have this rose too. I bought it unlabeled years ago at a plant sale at our local garden club. It is carefree, other than pruning. I had it in a pot at first and it grew through the holes into the ground - a very vigorous grower for sure! It's in the ground now and as tall as our 6 foot fence.

Do the flowers darken to red from the sun? When I cut buds to open indoors, they stay a dusty pink. The blooms are maybe 2-3 inches across and come in clusters. It has a sweet scent, but I don't find it highly fragrant, as some descriptions suggest.

That looks right. Cramoisi Superieur looks pretty much the same too.
