geraniums dying/wilting---why

Hello,

The geraniums (bigroot, biokovo, and sanguineum) were planted in 2019 and had been healthy until two weeks or so; many are wilting or dying. Is it because there was too little water (we have a dry spring and summer this year), or lack of nutrient in the soil (if so, what kind would you recommend: e.g., slow-releasing fertilizer rich in phosphorus and potassium, applied in the spring)?

Initially, the bigroot geraniums were wilting but I thought they would come back soon just like the past two years; but it looks like some are dying. What surprises me a bit is the biokovo geraniums, which tend to be more drought tolerant than bigroot, are also wilting or dying:

Geraniums in June 2022

Same geraniums today

Bigroot geraniums are dying, not just wilting

So are the biokovo and sanguineum

Thanks so much for your suggestion!
