‘Bishop Darlington’ is a wonderful Hybrid Musk. Thank you for sharing your elegant photo! Your BD’s petals look like silk. I’ll bet the bees are enjoying those open blooms!

I find Hybrid Musks to be one of the most satisfying classes of roses. I would not be without at least a couple of these magnificent workhorses in my garden. Below is a photo of Penelope growing against my hot, westside fence and blooming in great, bubbly froths of creamy white and musky fragrance…in high summer! I, unfortunately, have to rehome my very mature ‘Buff Beauty’, but my sister is giving it a good spot in her new garden, and I have all fingers crossed for a successful late fall move to sis’ nearby neighborhood. But I am not without a yellow HM. I am now honored to be growing your Hybrid Musk namesake created by Paul Barden. My baby ‘Jeri Jennings’ rose has already impressed me with lots of bloom clusters in the loveliest buttery-gold shades! I am training it on a tuteur so the nodding blooms can hang over the garden like fuffly lanterns.

What interesting petals - looks like semi-double, but the inner row is way smaller than the outer one (and more wiggly) - I saw one pic on HMF which was a single.

Jackie, somewhere I read a description of the bloom, referring to those petaloids, as being the Bishop shyly hiding his, er, private parts.

So this form, I think, is typical as well as unique and interesting.

Poirtland, while Bishop Darlington wants to be a giant, Jeri Jennings seems to be more moderate in size. Not positive she's up to an extra-large tuteur.

Good to know, Jeri. Kinsman’s ”extra large” rose pillar is only about 7 feet tall once the bottom is below ground, so hopefully JJ will have a shot at reaching the top. 🤞 If not, I also have a shorter pillar I could use. Carol
