taste.. That is because it has little taste at all compared to regular lemon types.

Citrons have the best edible rind, more tender and less bitter than lemons. (In fact they are mostly only useful for their rind, and typically don't have that much juice inside) Citron is the main ancestor to lemon, before they were hybridized with sour orange beginning in Italy.
