A Frame Cabin Cooling Options

Hi, we have a 1960s A-Frame cabin that has central heat and duct work to the main floor but not the loft. This works fine in the winter, but it gets really hot in the summer and so does the loft.

We got quotes for central AC which would blow cold air from the floor vents but would likely not reach the top floor. Another company wants to put in a mini split upstairs but that would require installing a 16in wooden beam across the a-frame window over the bed. I don’t like this option as it would look displeasing and blow cold air on our heads.

Any other thoughts or suggestions?
