    Mantis,

There are many nice ones in this posting. I am drawn to GLASS HOUSES, ELIZABETH PEACOCK, RULER OF NATIONS and ONE FOR STEVE. How is the bud count on ELIZABETH PEACOCK? In trying to count the bud scars, it appears that the bud count is in the single digits.

Yes, I think the bud count here this year on Elizabeth Peacock is just under 10, but every bloom perfect, scape density, well-spaced blooms, and bloom over a long time. Much better than, say, Thelma Douglas, that has such crowded scapes that some don't open well. The Davissons have higher bud count, but it's a different flower form. EP will be divided this fall. Neighbor Boundless Beauty has not had a good year with lots of hang-ups.

    Another shot of EP

You have some very nice lavenders and purples. Would you say that's your favorite color? .....3 years ago or so I was on a mad hunt to find Davisson's A Heart Apart. How does it grow for you? ....Desire of Nations looking extra good and Dixieland Band strutting it's stuff.............Maryl

A Heart Apart is a flower with good substance, clear colors, large size, and sharp definition. It is not a UF, of course, and it is not that tall, though it is in its first season in the garden. Also, not in a location exposed to blistering sun. Will see later on. I do have a fondness for lavenders, more so than most people, but also, Curt Hanson is obsessed with lavender now, and I have a lot of his. And we know that Karol is almost exclusively focused on purples. Judy Davisson also leans towards those colors.

Actually, in the last couple of years, I have added a lot of hotter colors.

Do some people here remember when Chris would display her Elizabeth Peacock?

Elizabeth Peacock and Glass Houses really grab me. I'm always impressed by photos I see of Desire of Nations and One for Steve. Lavender Panties and Chateau Belair are such pretty lavenders. I like the photo of Webster Girls that shows so many other daylilies in the background!

Another post of some great clumps. I really like the color on Glass Houses. I agree with Debra about Webster Girls with the panorama of blooms in the background. Substantial Treasure is another that I like. And Dixieland Band is one I had years ago that I really liked in the garden-became a victim of voles. It is so striking.

Lots of beauties!! All the beautiful lavenders, watermarks, multiples, hard to pick a favorite. But I especially like Dark Gethsemane, Tahiti Sweetie and One for Steve. Dixieland Band looks great in a clump. Ruler of Nation is so ornate. I see what you mean about Katherine Marin, I'd prefer single too.

Dixieland Band is so prolific. It blooms its head off. Some, though, say it is tender north of here.

You know I am not a fan of lavender, but you have some beautiful ones. I like Kingdom Bound and Glass Houses. I also like A Heart Apart. I also like the combination of bitone and watermark on Existential Avatar.
