I am not sure from your picture if the hosta is Erromena. But it is in the Hosta Library. Look up Undulata Erromena.

It does appear to be. You could not find it because it is listed as Undulata Erromena.

I am wondering if this was one of the only hostas around back in the 30’s and that’s why I see it everywhere?

Yes Debra it is an old one. HL says 1936, Zilis says 1932. Either way it has been around a long time.

It's not the only hosta around at that time. Some of the ones that were around were lancifolia, ventricosa and undulata albomarginata. I think we see them everywhere because they are strong growers.
