FFE Seedlings 2022

There were a lot of first time blooming seedlings this year. A lot for me (v small yard). Nobody sees them so I figured at least people who like daylilies will look at them.

Still dealing with some health issues that makes it unpredictable when / if I can use computer. Last year I couldn't manage a single post, but could comment more. We'll see how this goes.

Attempt to get a better edge on my seedling by crossing it with Gilded by Grace (GBG)

Russian Destiny x bee

I normally don't keep bee pods but RuD (I call it Rudy) is my latest tet so why not get a VL sdlg, but it's an exact copy

Attempt to get a big flower, UF shape by using my only huge UF which is Yellow Titan (YT). I was expecting mud..

But oops

sdlg x YT, I know Bonanza, but walnut broke the scape after the FFE and the thing opened every single bud in a cup of water! I think it deserves another year

On a whim I crossed two siblings, most of which are round medium dusty pinks with watermarks, here's what I got

You got some really nice seedlings! Of course, I love the dark pink/purples with watermarks! # 7, 8 and especially 20 appeal to me. They all look good to me though. I am sorry about your health issues, I hope this went ok.

It is great to see you posting again, hope you are able to do more! So many really nice seedlings, my favorite is #22 , great color and habits make it my favorite. I like all of the pink ones too.

What a great bunch of seedlings! I really liked the first two and then kept scrolling through the rest and saw many more I liked!! Numbers 7, 8, and 9 really caught my eye!! Good job on these.

I love the first three eyed and edged seedlings! Those crosses worked out well for you, getting nice, wide edges. The Seedling X Kingdom Without End cross worked well. My favorites are #7 and #9.

In the second group of seedlings, my absolute favorite is #16 - such great shades of pink in that one! I also like #20 - lovely colors, shape, and a pretty edge!

Nice seedlings! I especially like #1 and 2. #2 has quite the extravagant edge. I have always loved the look of Gilded by Grace, but it won't grow here. I'm glad you are getting something dramatic out of it. I also like #16 (pink is my color) and #20 (love the watermark.

I hope they all do well for you.
