I opted for a Franke stainless undermount. Some of the Franke sinks seem to be imported from China and aren't as nice as the European imported Franke sinks. The more expensive Franke sinks tend to not be from China and tend to sound quieter too.

I spent a bit more than $1k but also the price included the accessories and a compost-friendly drain basket.

I would suggest going to look at some. I went to an independent hardware store that carries a lot of the sinks. The salesperson was very frank about the pros and cons of the different styles and brands.

Don't get overwhelmed on this. It can be fun, really, and you shouldn't need to spend that much unless you are going for a statement sink in copper or a custom option with intricate carvings. Without seeing your space it will be hard to narrow down your choices. However, we are big fans of the Blanco granite composite and Elkay quartz undermount sinks. They are super durable and versatile and available is 9+ colors to coordinate with your countertops and cabinetry. If you want a statement sink, it could warrant a higher price point, but I would save those dollars for somewhere else and keep your sink more neutral. Good luck!
