if you only have the perimeter/ no island...I'd pick an interesting granite. and then a simple white subway backsplash. these circled ones dont provide enough with all white cabinets in a basic style.....go look for a little more pattern and some shades other than gray/ white/black. I cant think of any granite that would be too much here. heres some good looking granites ...otherwise I'd consider the lower left and lower right on the board of 8- the darker ones /and use a pale green or blue backsplash for color contrast with a much darker counter....

I like the top TCE one that you have circled but they would all be fine. You have a neutral base in your cabinets and floor so chose something that speaks to you. Are the cabinets the same white as the sample countertop whites?

BTW I have TCE in my kitchen as the fabricator said it was a big savings over the other brands. It is quite easily marked from standing water, cut vegetable juices, spices. Although I am diligent in wiping up, I have already had to use acetone to remove stains. I wouldn’t buy it again. I had Cambria for years with much less problem.

You said “We’d also like the backsplash to match the counter”. So you mean you want them in the same material, right? If so, be aware that your circled choices have prominent veining that will not match up at the seams, or where they change planes from horizontal counter to vertical backsplash. You could buy 2+ extra slabs to help with vein flow, but even then, it is unlikely you’ll get completely smooth vein flow. I would instead either pick a surface with more random pattern where you don’t have to worry about vein flow, or do the counter in the heavy veining pattern that you like and then do a neutral plain tile backsplash.

.i think on the vertical/ splash surface this kind of interest /a little color would be good. this could have blue or green undertone in that tile...its hard to tell but it does a lot for all white cabinets.

If the floor is a dark brown, I'd go minimize the gray (certainly no large gray veins). On the TCE page, perhaps TCE1478 or TCE1118. Try to find something that will pick up colour from the floor, rather than distract from it - a slight tan tint or accent, perhaps. My choices would be something more like Caesarstone Taj Royale, Cambria Delgatie, or HanStone Indian Pearl......I'm not necessarily recommending these brands, just an idea of countertops I think would be better choices visually.

If you’re a person who likes visual drama, go for a countertop with more contrast. If you want your kitchen to be very similar to many others, The choice of white and gray is safe. If you want something with some contrast and also soft color, look at moscavo quartzite, also called brown fantasy and several other names. The first commenter had pictures of this natural stone. The slabs are highly variable and can have veins and specks of white, soft gray, soft green, shades if brown. You have to choose the specific slab you want to get the look you want. Whatever you do, if you choose a countertop with heavier veining, get an experienced installer who will know how to blend veining by the way they cut and line up the pieces.

You need some contrast to bring the space to life -- either with a color (soft green or blue granites can be stunningly beautiful) or with a contrasting neutral.

I'd stay away from grey tones unless they're a WARM grey. OC-17 (White dove) is a warm white; a cool-toned grey is going to clash. A charcoal or soft black color is classic with white or off-white cabinets and would look really nice. Soapstone would fit the fill nicely, but do read up on it to make sure it's the material for you. Lots of dark grey/soft black granite choices (honed or leathered are going to look softer than polished surfaces).
