You're so lucky to be able to see owls! I hear them but rarely see them during the day. They must feel comfortable with all that shade from your trees.

sandyslopes..I agree that I'm lucky to see owls in person in my own backyard!..

the shade is wonderful..I think the owls feel safe with lots of trees to hide in..sometimes I hear them and can't find them..

Beyond fabulous Ann, what a glorious bird. I remember every pic you have ever posted of it (them). They are clearly comfortable in your neighbourhood. I finally got a pic last year but it was too far away. I am surrounded by forest and they are very shy to show themselves despite the fact that they should be used to me. I do enjoy hearing them often.

Laurie..thank you!..when the owls are here I can't stop myself from taking pics..they're so beautiful I want as many pics as I can get..

I'm so happy they feel comfortable in our neighborhood..funny how they have accepted our presence..

I heard a new neighbor (possibly intoxicated she was loud!) imitating their hooting one night..she sounded absurd..I thought "she's going to scare them"..I wanted to walk over and tell her to be quiet but I didn't..😂

thankfully her hooting was a one time thing..

ken..I agree that rodent control is a great benefit!..

I mentioned it once on a post about voles..at the time we saw hawks more than owls..I've had very few mice and no voles..I always thought the hawks were helping me out..

    I love my natural setting..

Laurie..it was ridiculous!..no way would an owl be fooled by her hoots..I bet her imitation of other animals wouldn't be believable either 😂..

so glad she hasn't done it again..
