I'm liking the bloom on Hooked on You. What is the base color in real life? On my monitor it looks like cerise pink, but I've never seen a true cerise pink color on a daylily before. There may be some, I've just not seen them...............Goldner's Red Velvet has a wonderful saturated color. Makes me think of Acquire the Fire....Always like seeing Indian Ripple. We cooled down to the low 90's one day and the red appeared in mine too. Otherwise, mostly gold. Regardless of color, the form is always appealing to me as is how consistently it produces masses of blooms.........All of yours deserve comment they are so lovely. Hooked is cerise red or cherry red. It is quite consistently clean, but the plant habit is a question mark. Indian Ripple has been especially vivid this year. We all know it, of course, but sometimes the oldies deserve mention. Red Velvet indeed has great substance and color retention. Bud count per scape is not high here 6-10, but high scape density; hence, the constant clump effect.

So many good looking blooms that it is hard to pick a favorite. Of course I am drawn to the Bennett intro JUBILEE BALL. I am also drawn to the purples CARL SAGAN and TEETH OF IRON. FRIEDA ALLEN JERRELL was my most photographed daylily several years ago. I just think that it is gorgeous. I love the photo of DRAGON KING. I agree-so many to feast on I had to scroll back through several times. What a year you have apparently enjoyed.

Snowflake Empress and Repeated Discovery are gorgeous. Red Velvet looks amazing in the clump shot. Frieda Allen Jerrell is lovely. I bought Geneva Firetruck for my grandson who has his own collection in my garden. It srands out when it blooms. Indian Ripple is a standout but I could say that about most of them. What are your thoughts on Daniel Howard Norris? That is one Ihave often considered but just haven’t gotten yet.

Daniel Howard Norris is probably Richard's best, next to Mary's Baby. Stunning in the garden, and consistently good. I haven't been able to get some of his latest cultivars (except for Joe Burrow due to a donation from the estate) since he has been selective in whose orders get filled and responded to. His life was upended by his wife's illness and death.

Again, lots of pinks and purples that I like, but every plant looks great. How do you like Love Song? I always like Davisson's you know, and this is different than her usual. I like the look of Geneva Firetruck, but the daylilies I have seen tend to not be very good plants from what I have heard. I love Indian Ripple, I got it once, and all but 1 fan died. When it bloomed, it was the wrong plant. Received a replacement, I got one bloom this year, then it died. Not meant for me, I guess. Great post I have enjoyed looking over this late in the season when I have almost nothing.

I can not pick a favorite among these as I like them all.. Your pics clearly show the beauty of the blooms even those in sun. A nice way to look back your season.

Lots of eye candy on this post! Rapture at Sea has me enraptured, and Impassioned is a gorgeous bitone. I love seeing stunning clumps of older ones like Indian Ripple, Dragon King and Snowflake Empress. The colors on Frieda Allen Jerrell, Christopher Hitchens and Daniel Howard Norris are wonderful. Mantis, I like Rapture at Sea and Frieda Allen Jerrell best. Great colors and form. Also Indian Ripple and Christoher Hitchens are quite nice. I had Dragon King at one time but it didn't like Kentucky.

Love Song is a more pastel color, with big eyezone and curled segments towards the tips (sepals more so). In the garden it has a floating effect, attracting attention with size and graceful form, while colors are beautiful but subdued.

Hard to imagine Indian Ripple not growing easily. A Dougherty, it is very vigorous. Geneva Firetruck is more vigorous than many of Hansen's plants. I'm trying to think of a defect.

Still blooming of these cultivars is Christopher Hitchens, Indian Ripple, Katherine Marin, Goldner's Red Velvet, and Free the Captives.

So many nice blooms here…..Free the Captives is my favorite, hands down!

Goldners Red Velvet out did itself this season.…double scaping, I have never seen that in all my years of growing daylilies.

Thank you for the info on Love Song, such a pretty plant. I have some similar plants, so it is harder for me to decide. Yes, odd about Indian Ripple. There have been others that do great for everybody, but not me. But I have some that do well here that most people have problems, so I guess it works out.
