Not really enough information. Do you have the name of the type from the seed packet? Are the leaves and plants still healthy but the bean pods basically wilted on the plants? I assume you don't mean they were pale like yellow wax beans? I assume by pliable you mean they were soft not crisp? Did you wait too long to pick them because you didn't see them? Maybe there was a disease, were all the pods bad or just some?

The beans are Harts "stringless green pod bush type"

The leaves were green and healthy and the larger beans turned yellow and both smaller immature green ones were limp and also tasteless.

The second planting fared a little better however both larger mature ones were green but both immature and ripe ones were not crisp and still somewhat tasteless.
