I'm so glad you found the tags. The Profusion series is touted as being highly disease resistant. There is nothing sadder then a non resistant Zinnia about this time of the year........... The world of Zinnias has shifted from disease resistant border Zinnias to tall Zinnias for the cut flower trade. I really like Zinnias and have grown many varieties in the distant past and almost all of the tall varieties look terrible in the warmer regions of the country within a couple of months. You can spray them, but after leaving roses, I'm over doing that unless it's an emergency.......Anywho, I'm so glad you posted a picture of your Profusion series Zinnias. I think the one you showed in your garden was Apricot. The shape of the plant speaks to the container area of my brain. Thank you for going to the trouble of digging out those tags........Maryl

Yes, it is apricot-those have actually grown larger than the red series. I can see them as good pot plants. And no, not a sign of mildew or disease on them. My tall garden zinnias, alas, look terrible.

I grew a Profusion Zinnia once long ago, but all I remember about it was that the color quickly faded to blah so I was constantly having to deadhead it to keep it looking good. It was disease resistant alright, but too much work deadheading with all those little individual flowers going off color every few days. It's just too hot to do that with everything else that needs to be done.....Yours looked so pretty though, that I think I will look into seed next spring.
