My Ruby are around 36", put in last fall and working marvelously.

Thanks cearbhaill, it seems all the joe pye get taller then what they are supposed to but I'm hoping it gets about 3 ft. Thought about baby joe because of the stated size but o keep reading that it can grow to 60 inches in trial gardens so went with ruby.

Yes, there really isn't anything 'Baby' about 'Baby Joe', one of mine is 6 ft tall! My second year 'Ruby' is about 2.5 ft, should be to almost full height next year, am loving the plant!

I hope I'm as happy with it. I pulled up a daylily last night to plant it. I wanted something for the pollinators but it's been sitting out in the garden bed in its pot and haven't seen any activity yet. I'm having trouble figuring out if it's in bloom or old blooms. Reminds me of my yarrow after they fade but still kind of looks like it's blooming.

I'm going to be doing a Chelsea chop next June on my Baby Joe and Gateways, I'm thinking about doing one of the Ruby as well just to see how much it will limit height.

The one I just picked up is about 2.5 feet. If it stays between 2.5 and 3 I will be happy, any bigger I guess I will try cutting it back. So do you just cut it back to the height you want it or do you cut it shorter?
