Can we see the kitchen please.

    @Patricia Colwell Consulting
Here are photos. Please excuse the mess. We just moved in. I would like to replace the kitchen table chandelier with this crystal one. I was considering using gold lanterns as pendants above the island, but not sure three on the diagonal would look okay. Thank you!

I would go with something understated, not clear, and non matching...let the chandelier shine.

My MIL thought the chandelier was too fancy, but I love it.

I have a "fancy" chandelier in my dining room, you can see the pendants at the same time but they are not in the same room. I chose to go quite plain with the pendants...to keep things calm 😄...same color and shape but very different in style.

idk that chandy is pretty GLAM, and if you go to 'cottage' with the pendants it wont jive, Im not sold on that chandelier either, its pretty, but the dining table and bar stools say relaxed comfortable. the chandelier says formal dining room. Are you changing the table? Also can stand to go bigger and lower than what is there.

also is it off center to the table? are you moving the outlet or swagging, I wouldnt swag that Chrystal.

@RL Relocation I love that first picture you sent! Maybe I’ll go with the crystal chandelier with the glass pendants you posted!
We just moved in. I’ll look for a more formal round table with more formal chairs. Thanks!

I got the inspiration from this post. She uses those bar stools with the chandelier and the lanterns:

But that is not your space, its light and white, and completely different feel. You have dark cabinets tile island and dark hardwood floor. You need to look for inspo, in houses that are look closer to what you have. Idk how much you love that tile around the island, thinking about what if you put breadboard over it and then painted it a color.

PS. I found those pendants on the lamps plus website.

@RL Relocation LLC Thanks! I actually have a contractor coming to put white wainscoting over the island tile. I don’t like the tile at all. We just moved in

maybe just maybe it opens up the space not to have pendants.

Are you matching the pattern on the already existing wainscot?

Yes, matching the pattern on existing wainscot. Do you think that’s a good idea?

Good idea to perhaps not go with any pendants! Thanks!

I need help finding a round table and chairs that will look good with the crystal chandelier! 🥰

So I would just take the pendants down, when the new light is installed and wait about a month and revisit the the thought, but I think the space looks way better without. it kind of opens the whole thing up.

As to a table wait for the wainscot to be done, its going to change the feel of the space.

Thank you SO much! You’ve been really helpful!!

Your welcome, dont forget to update us as the wainscot goes in and the light goes up, the light should be about 30 inches off the top of the table.
