I would pull it out from the back wall a bit more and move the fixture above it if you need to.

How many chairs do you want to fit?

I have a 60" round table and can just fit 6 large comfortable dining chairs around it. I can squeeze in a 7th for a party. To fit the most chairs you want to get a pedestal table with a simple pedestal base.

I agree a pedestal is a must what kind of top are you planning ? The space looks large but you have an entry door there so that needs room to function We need to know how many seats you need IMO the size of thetable needs to allow for 3' all the way around for seating a 60" table will be tight but doable IMO in glass to not overwhelm the space. I often get a smaller round wood table and add a custom sized piece of 15 MM glass on top it tends to make the table lees in your face . The other issue is the style od chair . I have often put 8 people at a 60" round table but no big wide chairs or arms on the chairs. BTW I sure would be tempted to change that flooring to match the rest of the wood right now this looks like an after thought

a) I think we want 4 people around it comfortably and up to 6 possible—if more people show up for a party we’ll go outside!
b) For some reason I really don’t like pedestal bases—they look really heavy to me and I’m trying to make this spce feel lighter and more open. But please convince me I’m wrong! Much of the other furniture is on the Scandi/light wood/very minimalist end of things so I was hoooooooping to find something similar: Ethnicraft, Skagerak, etc etc.
c) I cannot wait to take that fan down! I’d love to replace it with a light fixture but we need the air flow. It feels weird to have a fan directly above a table, though—it blows stuff around while we’re eating!
d) If I follow the 3-ft-on-each-side rule the table can be max 42” but that seems tiny?!?!
e) I would LOVE to replace flooring. We’re going to replace the bad laminate with engineered white oak in the rest of the house, so if I can figure out how to do so without going all the way to the kitchen (it’s getting it’s own redo but not for a few years $$$$$!) I would looooooove to.

I agree A Saarinen table base is by far alighter look than anything else but maybe glass .Sorry but you have space for at least a 54" table and since you do not mention any buffet no problem .Ditch the fan and get a fabulous light fixture
