I need to see the whole space and also is this electric, gas or wood burning . I also would discourage herringbone designed flooring it is busy and I can bet you will not like it once it is done Flooring IMO unless in a huge aopen area needs to be a backdrop for the rest of the stuff you put in the space . I need to know your style so any hint as to that with pics of your stuff is alway helpful What material is the flooring?

Thank you! The flooring has already been purchased and scheduled so I can't change that. it is subtle though with platinum grout. It's featured in the photo below the fireplace in the photo above. We know the brick in the fireplace surround and hearth pad will clash so that's another reason we want to re do soon. We are hoping to remove the hearth pad and add one with height as well. I'll upload some more photos.
