To add, this train has left, aka injury happened couple of weeks ago, possibly during division. Dividing any plant midsummer is asking for headache. Ask me how many lessons I have had to learn...

Now that I see you using pot, please do not drown your seedling. Make sure you have good drainage.

july is the best time to divide.. but you cant care what the plants end up looking like.. this season.. its all about the future ....

to circle back.. dividing just before root growing season is perfect ... so they can grow the root mass for next spring.. etc ...

I have two new Libertys that I planted in May and they look like that, leaves burned and tattered. I water them every day unless it rains, but they’re in part-sun, so I’m attributing their condition to that and also, as Ken said above, to the high heat of August.

Definitely hi heat, drought and end of season…… I have number of leaves going brown on different hostas. As ken says—- water x 3…… I couldn’t keep up this year for lots of reasons……sigh.

It's September next week- this time of year I stop being concerned about the aesthetics of many of my hostas- those in sun just give up way too easily. My mind has already moved on to 2023 planning so that's where I place my focus.

They are watered well. I think I may have let this one sit in sun too long on my hot deck. The others look fine. Good to know about the dividing time. I believe I did this the first week of July. I planted one in the ground in a protected area. The roots looked pretty good!
