So funny Kay, I can understand wanting to put them to bed, but I still miss my blooms. You have a lot more blooming that I do. Final Frontier will be blooming at least another 2 weeks. Midsummer A Woman's Work is still putting up rebloom scapes. I have Vanishing Mist reblooming, and a pretty lavender purple seedling, but that is all. I did see another scape on one I got from Debra, Rainbow Maker.

I too love pansies, Maryl and plan to plant a good many of them. I have been known to buy certain daylilies because I like the name as well as the plant.

Kay - You continue to be queen of reblooms! Such a lot of pretty ones reblooming! I find the shape of Derecho and Holiday Ribbons particularly appealing. I wish my Pink Aloha would rebloom. Yours loos so pretty!

Debra, Pink Aloha has been really pretty this year. It sent up one scape and when that was finished, it sent up two more. Sugar Magnolia sent up three rebloom scape and then sent up two more but I have sent so many photos of it. For some reason, after no rain and awful heat, we started having rain often and temps in the 80s and even in the 70s until late and that last cooler rainy blast had a lot to do with excessive rebloom; I think so anyway. I am having fun planning my new plants and where they are all going...and I have several friends who want any that leave my garden so that works well.

Don’t be too sure you are done with rebloom!!! You know how they keep popping up. I have gotten more rain in August than in June and July combined and in a walkabout yesterday noticed many more scapes coming up. I have never gotten rebloom on Pink Aloha-yours has bloomed a long time. Your WEPD was so pretty this year. Holiday Ribbons looks good.

Lovely post Kay. It is always interesting to see what reblooms in the deep south. I believe that Jellyfish Jealousy is one that will continue to put up buds on the same scape. I can't recall what they call that but it did that in my NY garden. Perhaps David aka Bedmaker might know what I am referring to.

No rebloom here which may be a good thng as I am too busy with landscape stuff and making decisions on which plants get moved to a new area. If I procastinate long enough getting things done it will be winter. LOL.

You have the longest season I know of [I think]. WEPD continues to be so pretty; I do like Great Aunt Picklebottom. I love the name, reminds me of my great great aunt Vernabel Hildebidel. I think that would make a good daylily name LOL.

Kate, when the current ones finish, if I see any more I will pinch the little devils off.LOL. And we have had an abundance of rain the last of July and especially in August. Julia, JFJ has done really well this year, but it is the third year, so I guess it is expected to do much better.

Brad, that is a memorable name, so pick one of our seedlings and name it. You have some pretty ones for sure.

Kay - Now that you've said Sugar Magnolia reblooms so well for you, I know I must get mine in a better place. Before the neighbor's trees grew so tall, it used to have lots of buds and branching, but I don't think it ever rebloomed.

Julia - Daylilies that continue to add buds on the same scape are called bud builders.

Debra, Sugar Magnolia is on Left Side front right neat to the house...It gets plenty of sun, but it does get some shade later in the day and it just made you happy to look at it in bloom. I believe you are the one who had it and I loved it and wanted it. Oley Oley Oxen Free is another you had that I loved and that I haven't gotten yet but it is in my future. Shelby is another one you had that was so pretty, I got it too..

I find the colors on I'll Get You My Pretty interesting. But Polstons have a reputation for being shorter than registered. Is that the case here? Your opinion of the plant? By the way, what is the meaning of ''getting my pretty"? I'll win you over? I'll get something for you? A threat?

Moving into pansy season. Definitely a Southern experience. I guess there can be fall pansies in the north, but in the south, they are planted for late fall to early winter.

I'm glad you like Sugar Magnolia. In the old days when it got plenty of sun and bloomed well, it was a favorite of mine. It always made me happy when I saw it too. Laura got it but didn't like it. She just doesn't care for pinks. Brad grows it too, and is is doing well. I've found a place for mine and will be moving it in the next week or two.

Mantis. in the Wizard of Oz, the wicked witch tells Dorothy "I'll Get You My Pretty, and your little dog too!". I suppose that is where it came from, but I can't say for sure. I measured the scapes to be sure, but mine are dead on 30" tall and 5.5" across. I liked the color and being a bit different, I added it to my garden and I have enjoyed it as it does well in season and regularly re-blooms both instant and after most of them are through, it puts up another one or a few more scapes here.

As for pansies, you are correct, we do plant in early fall for fall, winter and early spring color. One other good thing about pansies is that they give you color and if it rains, they bloom, if it is dry, they bloom and if we have a rare snow, they bloom "smile" right through it and are not badly affected at all by it, Heat does them in, of course, but other things are blooming by then and few things give beauty or such a long time in most conditions. Of course, I am talking about in the south.
