Wow, that was a fast decision. With no photo of the bathroom, but the info there is no window, white would not have been my suggestion.

I posted a photo in the comments, sorry you missed . Paint is going on the walls tomorrow am so we had to decide, no real time to swatch. Thanks for your input.

Maybe add some blue/green. How about the ceiling? And art, maybe above the toilet and the frame the same color as the vanity.

Absolutely! We are going to bring color in through towels and accessories, maybe teal or another bright blue, or some yellow. We have two walnut floating shelves to match the vanity and want to find some fun colorful accessories to put on them, including a piece of art on the top shelf.

The "long" wall opposite the shower will only have one towel bar on it so there's another opportunity for art above it on that wall. We have 10.5' ceilings so went with a fun but mini Sputnik chandelier. If we hate the paint we will pick another color. We currently despise our bedroom paint color so the plan is to just get this bathroom finished and worst case, repaint when we repaint the bedroom.

For future knowledge it is often best to use the same white on the walls as the trim and just use a different sheen. It is usually a good idea to consider the colors in the rest of your home and colors like the ceiling white and trim colors that are common throughout the home before you pick tile, flooring, cabinets or wall color.

Thanks! I did think about using white dove in matte but SW snowbound is a neutral white that I think works. I personally think homes that have the same tile in every room or the same paint or cabinets are quite dull. But to each their own!

@AN, I do agree that homes that don't have any variety can be stuffy and boring, but I also know that whites are tricky, and often fight with one another.

By definition, white is neutral - if it weren't neutral it would be a pastel.

But neutrals have undertones, Just like other neutrals anything other than a perfectly balanced, pure, neutral white, neutral gray or neutral black will be some shade of pink beige, yellow beige, orange beige, green beige, greige (green beige/green gray), green gray, blue gray, violet gray or taupe (Pink beige/ violet gray).

They don't all look good together.

Have you ever tried to pair a white shirt with some design on it with a white pair of shorts only to find that either the white shirt or the white shorts look dingy, gray, yellow, pink something other than that pretty white combination you were imagining.

Same thing happens in homes when we mix whites. White appliances make the creamy cabinets turn yellow, the neutral sofa looks pink in the room with the creamy walls, the bright white counter makes the bone colored cabinet look like an old tooth.

Yes, you can always re-paint, but personally, I would rather spend that extra time and money doing something fun, but to each their own.

Yes completely understand about whites and undertones. We solicited advice on which shade of white to choose based on our existing trim color and the other colors in the room. For the moment, I think it looks good but sometimes it's hard to tell if you love a paint color until you've lived with it for a while in a finished space.

Your advice is solid and in the future if I'm considering which shade of white to choose I would certainly consider the option of same trim color, different sheen. It's not like I want to repaint but we literally couldn't postpone our project over half of a gallon of paint 🤷🏻‍♀️.
