ETA to add an 's' to weed, so it doesn't sound like he is burning something usually smoked. LOL

I know folks who have done this on the weeds coming up between their patio blocks. Is that what you mean when you says weeds "in" your driveway - coming up through the cracks? (I have them too lol) It might work. I would never even consider out in the garden now, with the drought we've been having. Not sure what your conditions are.

Yes Dee just in the cracks. I’d never attempt it in the gardens lol....very dry here too.

so i got one and spent a good amount on a good quality one. but keep in mind it just kills the leaves. it doesnt kill the roots. so you need to keep at it weekly, every other week until you stress the weeds enough that they dont come back or you just keep going at them all year. it doesnt work on canadian thistle - my arch nemesis. i probably wouldnt buy it again.

I have one...highly recommended! Very easy to use, you just have to wave it over the foliage until the leaves kind of curl a little and the next day the weed is completely gone. I have not experienced the weeds coming back, so maybe it depends on the type of weed whether it kills it completely or not. It doesn't work as well on grassy weeds, but great with everything else. There have been a few flare ups where I thought i was going to cause a neighborhood wide suburban wildfire, but it usually just burns itself out in a few seconds or I just stomp it out...I guess my garden isn't as flammable as I think it is :P

O I wish. However, the entire family are in total agreement that 'dangerous maniac' is an understatement, when applied to myself. Would probably manage to incinerate my feet. Hand weeding a gravel garden is horrible though.

I use a Weed Dragon attached to a 20 lb. propane tank for a graveled area. You are so right rosaprimula!! Agree with Stephanie that you do need to keep at it - especially dandelions. It works really well on smaller weeds and is very satisfying and fun.

My husband uses a weed torch on many of our weeds…he loves doing it and it works! I can’t remember the name, but it has a push-button ignitor and he purchased it at Harbor Freight.

We also use one. We have a 150+ foot fence that runs along the backside of our property. Between the fence and the road is about 10-15 feet of gravel and it is our responsibility to maintain it.

Generally burn a couple times a year as they do come back but this is so much easier than manually pulling weeds out of rocks-we love it and highly recommend it

I use a Weed Dragon in my gravel areas, my driveway, and some of my fence line. I love that it can be used in cold weather or in the rain. It's hot work and you can't go in under shrubs, but it works marvelously. Have a hose handy in dry weather.

You're not supposed to incinerate the plant- that only kills the top portion. You'll get better results over the long term if you just lightly toast the weeds enough to wither them- then the whole thing dies roots and all over a span of a week or so.

My husband has this same problem- he's trying to do a super good job but ends up doing nothing but incinerating foliage- it takes a long slow wilt to kill the whole plant.

What's the advantage of this over roundup?

I garden organicallu so round up is not an option
