I would try and speak with customer service at build.com or if you have a physical Ferguson's or local plumbing supply in town stop in and speak to them.

I was able to use my faucet that had the lever style integrated drain stopper.

Millworkman, I spoke with Customer Service at build.com and the rep had trouble finding the correct sized grid drain. He said his team said to check vessel sinks, but no luck.

I now know that I am looking for a grid drain assembly that fits a 2" drain and has 1-1/4" piping, in addition to an overflow.

Duravit said that their push down "plug" does not unscrew/separate from the rest of the assembly, so the plumbers back in 2011 must have removed the entire assembly (assuming it was their assembly), if I ended up with a grid drain. Maybe the assembly has changed? The rep didn't think I would find grid drain assemblies with an overflow but I did find some... just not ones that fit a 2" drain. ;(

Yes, I will be installing faucets on the deck but since I was thinking "grid", I was not planning to connect the levers. However, I may have to reconsider if I can't find a solution as I am running out of time.

I am wondering if the plumbers from back in 2011 installed a grid drain assembly without an overflow even though the sink has an overflow... again, I have no clue if that is even possible.

Do you have a push-down-pop-up drain in a bathroom sink with a 2" opening? It seems like I may have to go that route.

Duravit said their "sink plug" does not separate from the rest of the assembly, which doesn't sound good to me as far as maintenance is concerned, plus the "plug/mushroom cap" looks quite large.

I have seen some push-down-pop-up drain assemblies where the top is made up of 2 separate pieces and the "inner circular part" can be pulled out for cleaning/emptying.

Have any of you installed or have a sink (most likely a vessel sink, Duravit or another European brand sink) with a 2" drain opening, an overflow and have a push button drain assembly which can be easily pulled out and emptied/cleaned?

I saw another thread talking about the Zero Drain, so I am planning to call them to ask them if the tub version can work with my Duravit sink. The sink one seems to work with sinks with and without an overflow. The tub version "ends" with a 1-1/2 inch drain pipe instead of the 1-1/4 one I need, but I am hoping there is some sort of an adapter to go from the the 1-1/2 inch drain to the 1-1/4 inch drain.

Can you tell that i am desperate for a solution? I don't even know if these things are interchangeaable, but they will hopefully answer that question. ;)

Update in case someone else is hunting.

The answer is no, per California Faucets... the Zerodrain for the tub cannot be used in a sink. You all probably already knew that, but I wasn't sure. ;)

Also, they make the Zerodrains when they are ordered so don't wait to order until the last minute if you are sure you want to go that route. The turnaround time varies; they said chrome "at this time" is taking 1-3 weeks.

Regarding the Duravit push button drain assembly, according to the person I just spoke with who said he was Tech Support (which I thought the other person was too because I selected that option)... their mushroom cap top can be unscrewed, if needed. If you have a Duravit sink or have their Push Button Drain Assembly, does it actually unscrew if needed?

I still don't like the mushroom cap, though the drain is in the back of the sink so maybe "stuff" won't land on there?. ;) . I'll definitely clean up after myself, but I don't live alone...

Per Duravit, the sink opening is 2". Does anyone know if a 2-1/4" inch flange is cutting it too close?

I thought the fitting had to be exactly 2", but the California Faucets person thought their regular Zerodrain MIGHT work, but said that the exact dimensions of the hole and the thickness of the sink had to be known (though they do have additional components you can get to extend for thicker or thinner sinks).

@just_janni, when you get a chance, can you please measure the width of the top piece (top of flange?) which is covering the hole in your Duravit sink?

I am wondering if a diameter of 2.25" is cutting it too close, as I did see grid drain assemblies which are 2.25" wide but thought they would not work because they did not say "for 2 inch opening", which is what the Duravit Veros have.

I realize now that I was wrong in thinking the top of the drain assembly's "body" had to be the same as the size of the hole.

I believe this is a Hansgrohe unit that I was able to mate with the integrated stopper assembly with the faucet. The one that came with the faucet was a smaller diameter. This is chrome vs the brushed aluminum - but I can live with that. I'll see if I can get the part number for the drain stopper assembly.

Your stopper look much smaller than the Duravit stopper because it is not a "mushroom". It looks like it is being controlled by the lever from the faucet, so I'll use that info to see if I can identify it from the Hansgrohe site.

I think it will be useful if I can figure out the diameter of the Hansgrohe one as that will give me an idea of something other that the Duravit which is wide enough to work with Duravit's 2" opening.
