Kitchen decor help

last modified: 4 years ago

Hello- I've redone my kitchen and i feel like it needs some personality. i have a small empty wall and was thinking of doing a small tile feature. Please share your thoughts (I am aware my updated design has some room for improvement but what is done is done). i think a nice tile feature/design could help add some perosnality.

I don't see the "small blank wall"?? If you mean the wall under the glass cabinets, then tile there should match the other backsplash tile.

I'd hang a piece of colorful art there

Definitely retire your plain towels for more colorful or bold patterned ones. Place your fruit bowl more front and center somewhere. Colorful stool(s) for your peninsula? Artwork for your blank wall. Maybe a tad more color on the walls, something that still is a neutral but deinitely a color, maybe in the green or green/blue family?

Pick up the blue from your bowls on display for your kitchen linen.

Thanks everyone- it is a bit too drab. Luckily its open to my dining/living are that is not drab at all. I like the suggestions to pick up the colors of my dishes as well as swapping out towels/strategic fruit bowl placement. i was going for the empty counter club as i was so happy to be able to finally put my things away but maybe I went a little too far!

It doesnt need more tile. It needs color. Its blah right now, but, nothing wrong with the kitchen itself, just add a bit to it. Colorful art on the walls a nice colorful rug in front of the sink. Some color on your countertops. Add some pretty towels in place

of the boring white ones on the handle of your stove. Pick one of your favorite bright colors and use it.

I'd keep the small appliances you have. colorful art piece on that one wall as suggested and maybe a little decorative vignette in the corner to the right of the stove where it will look pretty but not in the way of using your counterspace. Google kitchen countertop decor to get ideas.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and it is white on white on white, a deliberate pivot from 34 years of oak cabinets and hardwood floors! :-)

When the cabinets went in, it looked soooo stark and cold. But I added details as many here have suggested and brought in some wood to warm things up. Black metal and warm acacia connects to our fixtures and flooring. Ceramics in shades of blue and green brighten the surfaces without cluttering. I am also committed to not having tons of “stuff” on the counters. It feels so tidy and pleasant!

thank you- I agree some greens/blues for me as well- but no clutter. I also upgraded from a very warm honey oak kitchen. Love your countertops and backsplash!

Add a colorful little lamp to the corner counter.
