I have similar ones, I like them very much. But can you lower them? They seem high. And I measured real quick, mine are smaller diameter wise but they’re 24 inches apart. And my island is 8’ wide.

Is this someting do major you want to pay to have the boxes moved and the ceiling repaired? Is thne have them moved BTW IMO 24" is too much since they should be in from the ends of the island . I do agree your are too high but looks like rods not cable so proably not fixable now I would however cahnge the bulbs to LED 4000K not Edison bulbs ever in a kitchen.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting - sorry not understanding your full response. In terms of cost to move them, it’s shouldn’t be crazy, because they’re still doing other work. They’re not rods, so should be able to have them come lower, assuming there’s sufficient length (ceiling slopes up, so the further along the island, the increase in length needed, which may be why they did this like they did).

One foot in from each end and center in middle portion.

For 7.5’ island they could have placed the end ones a couple inches away from center. And 30-33” above countertop.

But I wouldn’t change now to avoid having to move junction boxes and repair ceiling.

@Flo Mangan - You’re saying that you wouldn’t change it, because it will require moving the boxes, patch and paint, which isn’t worth it in terms of cost?

Correct. I don’t think it’s worth it but of course it’s your call. Ask your contractor what the TOTAL cost would be. If manageable, then consider doing just two larger pendants instead. Something like this.
