Fertilizer and lots of light. Too little light will make it reach for more, while just the right amount will keep it happy and stocky. Fertilizer to help it grow healthy and lush.

This is not a true maculata as I grew this from a seed collected off the mother maculata plant. I just staked it a couple of weeks ago, added Osmocote fertilizer, topped it off with some fresh potting soil, and moved it to a bit more sun. It is shaping up but time is running out this growing season.
