Recessed lights in attic

I need help with recessed light placement in an attic. The ceiling is like a triangle. The ceiling is only about 7.5 to 8 feet high.
I have attached some photos of what I want to avoid.
How do I know the light ray path, or spread? I don't want the light to hit the wall and end up creating bright spots on the wall or shadows elsewhere.
I'd like to put the lights as high as possible but to avoid issues like the pics attached.
Sorry I don't know the specific terminology for what I wrote.

The pictures you show all have a flat portion of ceiling. On those the beam spread angle is too wide which is creating hot spots on the adjacent sloped ceilings.

You can minimize those hot spots by fixture and/or 'bulb' selection. A recessed light with a deeper baffle will most likely have a smaller field angle. Along with that, a 2" or 3" fixture vs. a 4" or 6" fixture will have a tighter beam angle too. If you are able to choose 'bulb' styles (when using Edison socket fixtures), you can select shapes of those 'bulbs' to have a tighter beam angle too.
