whats in the pot.. all beads.. or is there media under? does the pot drain?

how do you water .. when do you water.. do you let it dry.. how did you come up with your watering schedule???

Have you fertilized the plant? and have you checked it for spider mites?

Ken, those are mini-leca type balls for growing in semi-hydro. Plants grown in semi-hydro take a bit of getting used to in my opinion. While there are some conveniences to it, I find it somewhat challenging to adjust to it.

The idea is that the substrate will provide adequate oxygen to the roots and retain the correct amount of moisture. Nutrients would have to be eventually added to the water for the plant to consume.

Usually the grower will retain a water reservoir at the bottom of the cache pot. That water can be a consistent small amount of water on a wet/dry cycle depending on the plant.

Some people find this method of growing very easy. Some don't. I find myself in the latter category. While I do have some plants in semi-hydro (some hoyas), I feel more comfortable with soil.
