We had some some crazy wind the past few days and this morning I found a big branch broken off on one of my Neil Diamonds. They actually evolved into mini climbers, reaching 7 ft tall and towering over everything around them. Should I cut them shorter? I don't want to lose anymore branches!

Will my plant be ok after losing one of the main branches? There was actually a basal break on that branch :( . What should I do with this branch? Should I prune it and stick it in some dirt or just discard it? or root some of the top branches? I just put it in a bucket of water.

I still have quite a few branches left.

The second plant looks like a climber (didn't break).
