We have bigger TV than I care to have in our kitchen. But we needed a small one for our bathroom. I ended up getting a 24" Samsung smart monitor instead of a TV. It does everything a TV does. We always get Samsungs because they have an app for our cable provider so we don't need cable box at every TV.

A small tv with decent sound and not needing a sound bar are even harder to find. We still use an analog set (I think it's a Sharp) with a digital converter while we look for a new small tv without tinny sound

I have a 19" tv hidden in a standard 36" high x 24" wide upper wall cabinet. The tv space is only 15" high, so still allows a 12" tall shelf above the tv. The tv is on a wall mount that swivels and extends if need be. The cabinet doors are on 175 degree hinges (because frameless cabinets, to avoid the center stile face frame, do not allow pocket door slide hinges).

Still 20" class tvs available for purchase from the big box stores.

Are you watching actual broadcasts? Or are you mainly streaming? If you're streaming, just get a monitor with integrated speaker and hook it to your stream source.
