That stem reminded me of arugula. But I am horribly bad at IDing everything so I shouldn't even be posting lol. I agree with laceyvail to post it in the vegetable or Name That Plant forums.

Definitely 100% not chard, which has a different texture, stems and leaf shape. My first impression is turnip. But could be something else in the Brassicaceae such as radish or a very hearty arugula. Have you dug one and looked at the root?

Gotta agree - not chard. Also thought of turnip, rapa or some other brassica.

Ditto re not chard but , as others have suggested, perhaps rurnip or something else in that family. I also agree with the suggestion(s) to check the roots and to post in the Vegetables forum.

i know chard is a vegetable but it's also perennial. according to a friend's a plant i.d. app this is in the mustard family.

The mustard family is simply the common name for the Brassicaceae, as referred to previously. All the suggestions given e.g. turnip are in that family.

Yes, botanically speaking, chard is perennial. But in horticultural parlance the term perennial is generally considered to describe herbacous ornamentals rather than vegetables, and those are the plants the Perennial Forum is designed to deal with.

i just looked it up and the phone says arugala or eruca. You can go from there. Brandon
