I would say it's a bow front china cabinet from the 1930's. It originally had shelves in it which were likely glass shelves. Do you see any evidence of where shelves might have been?

I agree. Put in a chunk of cardboard covered with satin moire or something glitzy to fit along the back before putting your new shelves in. Or a mirror. It's really pretty and looks to be in great shape. Often the veneer gets chipped off of these but yours looks just about perfect.

Agree, walnut, serpentine, Chippendale style, 1030's.

Much newer than 1930's the only thing that even might hint at Chippendale is the leg which is modernized Queen Ann. Looks like mahogany veneer. What does the back look like? Never held glass shelves because they are heavy and there is no way to support the sides.

My guess would be 2000 or so, new...pigh end, but has been modified for some specific reason and the back with the shelf supports removed. Show us the back and a close up of of the wood.

I dunno. Better photos are needed I guess.

And it sure looks similar to many old art deco curios out there...

I agree strongly with 1930’s burled walnut. Art Deco with cabriolet legs. A relative had one similar. Most have/had two glass shelves.

It had shelves. They were supported as I showed above.

And how would those shelves be shaped? Would there be any support any place but those back corners? How would it fit with the curve of the front of the piece?

There were different kinds. The shape depends on the way the cabinet is built.

The shelf brackets are metal and round, example below. I don’t know how else to explain it.

The sole purpose of these was/is to display “curiosities”. All had shelves. When I said ”most” in my first post, I meant many are sold now without them because they were lost or broken through the years.

My question, just out of curiosity, is what the back of the OP’s once looked like. It wasn’t the plain white backer board (?) showing, it would’ve had a decorative cover like the ones above, I think. I can’t zoom in enough to see.
