Iron Ore is almost black. Even without having a good picture of your house I have to say I think it will be too dark as well. SW has a lot of grays that might work. Did you do any test patches? Choosing a color for a large area of your house from a chip isn't a good idea. If you can post a closer up well lit picture of your brick we will be able to do a better job of suggesting a gray if that's what you're looking for. The green you have now is actually frequently suggested to go with brick, but if you're tired of it and want something different there is probably something else that will work. Look at SW's website at their top 50 colors and see how many grays there are.

I'd paint the Board & Batten white and the trim Iron Ore.

White will make it look larger, fresher in the surrounding landscape.

I think the current color goes really well with the brick. I don't like it on the shutters, though. I'd try a color significantly lighter than Iron Ore. You could try 50% Iron Ore pigment.

Look at grays that are not dark. I like Pewter Green. Do all the trim the same color.

Here's your entrance in Iron Ore with white trim and door. If you use a storm door, it should be the same colour as the front door. If your budget allows, you can update your front door, the porch railing to wood and update your sconces to larger newer style ones. You can paint the ciment porch and cover it and each step with stained wood planks.

Landscaping would also help for more curb appel.

Our exterior doors are painted Iron Ore. It is a very dark color and I would worry that you wouldn't be able to see the battens if you were to use it on your siding.

Your current color looks good with the brick. If it doesn't need repainting, then invest in other curb appeal features:

--new cement and brick steps using varieted bricks like the ones on your house

--cedar stained railing

--Remove shutters entirely

--Deeper garden beds with new foundation plantings and perennials that produce dark red leaves and flowers, but use reddish mulch. Great landscaping enhances and extends the look of a house.

I would just darken and richen the color you have. Remove the shutters, replace the iron railings and upgrade the lanterns to 1/3 of the front door's height. I would change the style of both doors.

Peppercorn would also be a good choice of colour, slight lighter than Iron Ore.

Peppercorn is a better charcoal for your house. It will not look too dark if you extend the flower beds and put light colored flowering bushes in front. Use pinks, yellows, whites, shocking red bushes and it’ll be adorable. Think hydrangeas, knockout roses (if they’re available where you live.

Agree Peppercorn might be a better choice. Your long, low roof would make me consider lighter shades that would give more ”life” and focus to the siding. However, if you want something darker, maybe go with with Peppercorn. You’re fortunate to have a gray roof since it makes color choices easier.

Also agree with no shutters in your case.

Still a little confused as to what will look best. I think the Peppercorn might be good. I know the green goes with the brick. I just wanted something different. Thank you everyone for the suggestions.

For the architecture of your home, I would go with Peppercorn instead of green.
