Looks kind of low to me but im not experienced on tile

No comment on the grout, but the toilet should probably not be cauked to the floor. Some people think it is ok to caulk around the front, but leave an opening in the back The issue is that, if there is a leak under the toilet, you won’t see the water so you won’t know about the leak

Caulking the toilet to the floor is required in my jurisdiction... I don't like it either.

Required in California too. We tried to skip it but got a corrections notice. :(

I think the tile looks okay--grout could be higher, but I don't think it's too low. But also not a tile expert by any stretch of the imagination!

If you run your bare feet along the edges of the tile is it uncomfortable? If so, needs more grout.

Can you see unfinished tile sides? I think you can (but not sure) and if so, and it's extra stripey looking--needs more grout.

Looks like a nice neat flat installation though!

@Fori i can feel it a bit under my feet but its not super uncomfortable. my contractor comes back to install the new shower door and i may ask him about it. Yes, otherwise they did a really good job.

@artemis78 yes i think its too low but not horrible. I think ill ask my contractor about it when he comes back to install the shower door. Its an older house with probably not level floors so maybe they had to do it that way to make it look the best. who knows.

I'd caulk for inspection only! The second the truck was out of the driveway? I'd dig it out. It will get gross beyond belief. Dig it out when they're gone.

Never heard ANYTHING more absurd. A properly installed, recently purchased toilet doesn't leak and if it did? You want to know asap.

The entire concept is as dated and ridiculous as a PAN beneath the "pooper". You think anyone in a new build, caulks a loo to a hardwood floor in a beautiful luxury foyer powder room? Not on my watch, that's for sure!

@User okay, thank you for your input. I may just not be used to it since our old tiles werent rectified and felt smoother. That makes me feel better.
