Have you seen these countertop growing appliances that claim you can grow your own herbs and, even, vegetables right there on your countertop?

You see these staged photos and ads that promise you a harvest of something.

Do people really believe that any real or valuable results will come of this? Yes, you might get a few scraggly herbs or something. You might even get a bit of lettuce or a few leaves of spinach, maybe.

What a ridiculous appliance! What ridiculous claims!

You could made some manner of grow area in your house but not with this. You can get some lights and get an inexpensive shelving and set up a grow area that might actually be of some value as long as you give it a lot of attention and care. Some live where they can actually grow a small plant of something on the window sill, but these little appliances are totally misleading and ridiculous.

Still, I bet there will be any number of them wrapped in santa paper this year.

I guess you could use them to start seedlings. But you dont need this appliance to do that.

They will be hitting the resell shops and landfills in the coming future. They probably have the durability of a cheap coffee maker.
