Kitchen Design

Hi,

I’m looking for feedback on our new kitchen design. We’re extending the kitchen to the sunroom to make it bigger. I asked for tall cabinets but I feel like the they cut the flow of the kitchen.

Any ideas or suggestions?

The first thing I will advise is as many as possible base cabinets should be true drawers not drawers behind cabinet doors. Can you post the to scale floor plan 3ds are always a bit tricky to see all the issues . A prep sink should be as close as possible to fridge and I never like to cross in front of a range to get from frdige to sink. The prep sink needs to be large enough to use properly and a trash usually compsot bin should be next to the prep sink. Please let us have a look at the whole layout in 2 D.

do you need two of the double doored pantry cabs.....I'd leave the one right of fridge and toss the other one. Put some open shelves on the bit of wall at the end of the peninsula....or even a glass door cabinet..... all base cabs should be drawers ..... shift the little sink a bit to the left so you have that nice wider counter on the right ....you'll appreciate that at the peninsula. I might widen the passage coming from living room so can you live w 6-8 inches less of peninsula?

The thing that immediately caught my eye is the angled dishwasher. If you're standing at the sink and then turning to the right to load the dishwasher, you're going to be trapped between the lowered door and the sink in a triangular space. I'm not sure where an alternative placement could be, but I hope you won't find the current area be a cramped spot when you're having to turn, reach and pivot while loading the dishwasher.

The tall cabinet across from the range wall isn't playing nice with your space.

Please post a 2D layout with dimensions. Assuming this kitchen has doorways into a family room and a dining room, there is a very good chance that you'll get a much better layout if you swap the entire kitchen with one of those neighboring rooms. Extending kitchens into bay windows rarely looks right.

Hate it ? Closed off and Claustrophobic feel for me and like cooking in the prow of a ship. Show the entire living floor. Two dimension, not elevated, on paper. Add pics if you like of all current condition. Sun room, all of it. A lot of money and not a great kitchen as planned, sorry

The most popular kitchen layout is the L-shaped kitchen. The L-shaped kitchen layout consists of two counter spaces running perpendicular to one another. This makes it perfect for multiple people to cook together, making it a popular choice among Indian families.

Take out the tall pantry across from the stove. Extend the countertop there and put the dishwasher on that run, not in the diagonal. Swap lower cabinets to drawers wherever possible.

Not liking the location of the dishwasher.

What does the kitchen look like now? we’d need a full layout of floor to make reasonable recommendations. i think dw needs to go where the prep sink is to be comfortable. i think i’d rather have a galley kitchen and table in the nook area as i think its hard to have dw or prep area in the nook with door layout as it is.

Hi all, it’s been a while I just wanted to update! Thanks for the ones who encouraged me to go through my idea with my kitchen.

I wanted to be able to see my backyard and pool from the kitchen sink and we achieved it!

    Here is the end result!
