Looks like a vacuum pod mark made by your fabricator. How old are the tops and how long has it been there please?

What is your top made of please? It depends upon how deep the damage goes as to whether or not it could be fixed.

It does look more like a hot pot mark than a vacuum pod mark. Do you have a pot or a lid that fits it perfectly please? Apparently your mom did it?

Thanks so much Joe for your response!! It’s not very noticeable unless you at counter so I’m hoping that means it’s not that deep. I thought it was told quartz, but someone said it looks like limestone. No my mom didn’t do it, she noticed it when she lifted up the lid to put It away. So that means it was probably from earlier when husband was cooking, or I washed it and set it there but If I did that I don’t think it would have left a mark. Yes,’ I do have the lid. Cast iron (which I now know after research that gets the hottest)

That is NOT limestone.

It appears to be an engineered stone and the mark would be consistent with same. Were I called to this repair, before I attempted a refinish with a Quartz Renew kit, I'd have your written acknowledgement that the top was ruined and that I could only make it better. $750-$1,500.00 depending upon how lucky we got.

For all those who choose Quartz counters, which contain 33% plastic resins, because they’re bullet proof…

Welp I’m gonna believe in the best here. He said he if it wears off he could do something more but it shouldn’t 😊. And I don’t mind it’s you can see it a tiny but if you’re trained and legit searching for it, all I cared about was making it less obvious which is what he did🙏🏼. So for that I’m thankful! It’s dry and not oily by any means . I don’t know, but It was a Comany that specializes in restoring stone and marble.

So what if you have to apply a little Tenax Quartz Renew every now and again? It makes the water bead up pretty anyhow. Good save.

It looks great! And your kitchen is beautiful. You must be letting out a huge sigh of reflief. From this point forward, I recommend treating your countertops as if they were solid surface (e.g., Corian) and not natural stone. This means no cutting directly on them and never putting hot pots and pans down without something underneath them.

And a final word of advice: Don’t listen to Verbo. Not only is she not a professional (just look at her name, profile picture—a Japanese rapper, contact info, and credentials), but she changes her profile and name every few months. Oh, and she’s usually wrong.

Thank you so much Joseph!! Your replies are so greatly appreciated, especially yesterday when I was panicking. I actually can’t even find where it was anymore- woohoo! Big lesson learned for us too (especially my husband😋)! Got those trivets right in that drawer under now!

Good I hope it holds up over time. I have quartz and a large collection of trivets. Also watch the bottoms of slow cookers, etc etc. which can get hot.

I know this is an older thread, but we have the same issue on our white quartz countertops, caused by my 9-year old son placing a hot pan down without a trivet or towel. TTJ, where did you find someone to fix the counter? We are looking for a repair but stone repair companies aren't a dime a dozen it seems...

Hi Andrea! The stone so far has held up! We seriously can’t believe it! He did have some machine he used to do something to the counter before he put the sealer on it (I’m adding this to edit my other comment from above :) ). I am in the Chicago area and I’ll respond back with the company
name ASAP! Can’t seem to find it at the moment. So sorry about your counter, it’s so frustrating I know!!
