Pedestal table work here?

Would a large pedestal table work here under the air unit? The fiddle tree didn’t handle the cold well and lost lost of the leaves off it and need something else. What might work now in this corner? I would like a large pedestal table with a chunky base and a lamp. Or something decorative? I’m at a loss.

Move your black bench in and use some tape to mark off that size mirror…add pillows and you are well on your way! Or no bench and slender console u dear mirror.

    Better yet!!

    How wide is that wall?

    About 66in

I think at 24” wide it would have to be paired with a couple buffet lamps on a slender console or small stacked art on both sides with bench.

I would think finding a larger size is better.

What would be budget for a mirror?

I would want to keep it under $300. The mirror would reflect the cabinets. Would that be ok?

Yes of course ..when they are painted and have new hardware!

I was shopping for a larger hobby lobby type mirror for the kitchen wall. No luck with the mirror, but still searching. While there I picked up a few pieces for the living room. Not sure I am on the right path. What I like the most is the black/white pieces but not sure the color prints or the metal flowers fit my style. Not sure what my style is yet .

    Oh no return them all…

LOL! I feel the same way and didn’t love any other than the left black frame pictures. I probably should have stayed home today :)

Agree with HIWE. Seems like wrong direction…

I loved that yellow toned traditional mirror you showed a while back. I think you should find a place for it.

Amanda, is this the mirror you mentioned above?

I’m kinda jumping in in the middle, but, Colleen……….you mentioned early on that your MILs like to sit on the wood bench in the kitchen. Would they miss that ?

Yes they do and yes they would. Unless replaced with another :)

I’ve googled my days away looking for a mirror large enough to fit this space which is approx 60 in wide. I have my heart set on French country arch type mirror, but can find anything large enough to fit the space.

The pictures perhaps? At home with ease, can you share where you found the prints?

You could hang the black French mirror and stack art on each side or find decorative French plates to hang on each side..add your bench and pillows..easy breezy

I think your style leans toward French country, Colleen. Try to stick with one style….it’s a lot easier….

Yes, that’s the mirror I was referring to. Why not hang that up with the prints Julie found around it?

I wouldn't paint the kitchen cabinets if you ever intend to sell your house. It's very easy for someone else to tell you to paint them, when they're not the one with the expense and the mess. Also, once you paint, there's no going back to the original finish and refinishing would be a nightmare and even more expensive. Do what you feel is right for you, not what someone else thinks you should do.

I think you need to find out what you like before buying anything. Look at decor, furniture, art, etc. online, in stores, in books and magazines. Find out what makes you happy, speaks to you, what you would enjoy looking at every day, and then you will know your "style". Your style may an eclectic mixture of styles and that's okay, too, if it makes you love your home.

Seeing less expensive mirror options at homegoods. Thoughts?

I only will suggest things that I have done or experienced with my clients…once someone mentions they want a white kitchen they have already decided it is what will make them happy not concerned about the next owners…I personally have had kitchen cabinets painted and it has been worth the mess and cost…it can give a home new life! Colleen if you honestly look at your cabinets and completely love them that is a different story! But ever since I first met you on this thread you have disliked your cabinets and have wanted to paint them…

I painted cabinets in my house 25 years ago and at that time everyone said I was foolish because they were custom cabinets. I have not regret it for an instant. I agree with Julie totally! Do what makes you happy!

    .they are 25 in wide.

Dislike the cabinets but do like the warmth.

Which do you think best in kitchen - black finish or gold finish?

The gold is about 23x50 inches and the black is shorter at a 22x26 approx.

The two mirrors I posted are close to your $300 budget…I think they are more like 39” wide

Thank you and yes I see they are close to my budget. So what I’m thinking is the smaller one. The tall mirror is 70in and would be too much floor to ceiling. If I do the shorter one it will fit better with a bench or console if decide to get. My only issue is the gold color. Not sure that’s the right color scheme??

Love the gold it goes with neutrals, whites and black….you could do gold hardware on cabinets..so pretty will add a bit if the French European style.

I think all this decor focus is agonizing lol. Perhaps focus on the kitchen remodel and that being completed will surely tell you what decor finishes are best.

Agonizing? It’s the reason I’m here and appreciate the support.

What are your thoughts for the kitchen wall with these prints instead? Considerably cheaper and just as nice?

Ok, so I finally purchased the prints and this Ballard’s Bench for the kitchen It’s a little wider but think it will be good! Julie, I’ll happily take your input.

@ Home Interiors with Ease, what do you think of the bench for Ballard’s?

@Julie, I received both the bench and the four framed pictures and hope to show the look tomorrow.

The Ballard’s bench arrived and love it and the pictures too. Love everything!! What height do I hang the pictures in stacking them all together. I won’t do a mirror in middle, just the 4 pictures. Help !
