Master Bathroom layout advice

We will be building a house with the dimensions of the master bathroom being 7' x 16'. I'm questioning if the placement of the shower, toilet and single sink vanity and storage is the best use of the space. (I know we go against the norm, but we don't want a double sink-I would rather have counter space.) The plan was drawn with the layout below, but I'm not sure it's ideal. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Looks like a nice plan.

Just don't add the extra sink if you don't want it and use the space as counter space.

Instead of a pocket door I would have a real door since you have a wall to open it onto. You will want to have light switches on the wall right next to the door (on the left). The shower, toilet and sink look very tightly spaced. I don't know what the actual clearances are, but think about whether you would like more breathing space there since you only want one sink.

This is off topic but will you enter the suite looking into the closet? If it were me, I would want to be able to close that off or have very nice built-ins so my initial view of the master is not a jumble of clothes (I am a pretty neat/matching hangars type of girl and I still think my WI closet looks chaotic)

. pocket doors are great. they are generally always open, especially in a Master setting.

Is that a closet between the shower and the wall-in closet? If so, I have an alternative for you. Our bathroom is almost identical to yours, except for two-sink vanity and the shower goes all the way to the wall.

To increase storage and provide a little privacy (and decorum), the toilet has drywall on two sides. In the shower, the controls are on that tiled wall.

Between the vanity and toilet is a wall that is the depth of the vanity for about 38”, then the wall steps back about 6” and continues to the ceiling. The little ledge is topped with the same material as the vanity top. It has a recessed medicine cabinet above the countertop.

Between those two walls, above the toilet, is a cabinet matching the vanity. It’s perfect for shower items, towels, tp, etc. I know some don’t care for a cabinet there, but it is not too visible from the vanity, and really is convenient.

The shower is long, and has a ledge at the end where we have a basket for the daily shampoo, body wash and scrubby.

I love our bathroom, and if I ever build or remodel a home, the bathroom will be just like it.

One other note: the closet is narrow. hanging clothes take 2’ on each side, leaving you only 2’ to stand in. Will you be able to see your clothes just inches from your face?

No, it's not ideal, and also the walk-in closet is too narrow to have hanging clothes on both sides.

Make the closet 1 foot wider and the bathroom 1 foot narrower.

The shower as shown appears to be only 30" wide. Make it 42" wide and 72" long. to span the whole wall.

With the abundant storage you will have in the 1-sink vanity, you won't need two tall cabinets on the end, so remove one of them and give the space back to the vanity.

There is no need for a pocket door here, and they can be annoying to use, especially in a Master setting since they can be noisy to operate.

    No window?

The shower is shown somewhere between 42"-48" long. It is way too confined to enter based on the toilet being so close to it. Remove the cabinet.

My bathroom is 64” wide. You could steal some space from yours and not miss it, and widen the closet which you would appreciate. Especially if you plan to include drawers in the closet.

My toilet space btw is 44”, which allows for a nice-sized cabinet above. and easy cleaning around it.

Can the bedroom and bathroom/closet be flipped while keeping the entrance to the suite?

    Agree with the other comments.
