I think two stones in the same room often fight each other and neither ends up winning so for me that combination would be too busy - but see if you can find inspo photos of baths with that counter and it might help you determine what you like

It would not be my preferred combo. Let one of them take center stage.

Flooring guy just wants to sell you tile and get you out of the store! From the photos alone, I would not pick that combination.

The tile store should lend you the board or a couple of loose tiles to take to the stone yard, so you can see the tile and stone together. Also get a sample of your white cabinets. The wrong white could make that floor tile look muddy/dirty/yellowed.

Pick one or the other. The countertop is going to fight with the floor pattern. If you love the countertop, then choose a plainer tile. Get all your pieces together and see how they play together.

NO. NO. NO. a thousand times, NO.

Pick ONE star in your show.

That means a cohesive marriage, of floor tile, shower tile on walls and floor of the shower AND a complementary solid surface for counter tops, shower curb etc.

The tile guy isn't your designer, The contractor is not your designer.

Before you waste money? Get at least an interior designer. Post an inspo pic for your bath. Post the current condition if a remodel and the layout plan. Post the plan if a new build......

That you could even consider the two together, tells us..........you need design HELP.

Before you spend hard earned dollars on a brewing disaster : )

IMO 12 x24 porcelain tile for both bathroom floor and shower walls the same color the same layout then a smaller tile same color for the shower floor and then do a nice counter to be the star if tou love that piece then find the other tile in a color from that piece

Of course your flooring guy says yes. If he sells you the tile, he gets his commissiion!

The answer is no, they do not play well together.

Thanks everyone - I am heading back to the granite/quartz dealer to look again at countertops. We did get actual samples of the tile and I’m fine with the color with the cabinets….just feeling like we need to revisit that counter top. Perhaps a soft gray quartz. Found this photo online and I love this.
