Sherry - I like the looks of all five of those! The only one I have is Happy Happy. I don't think I got a photo of it last year. It blooms so early here, sometimes the first few blooms don't open well.

Hoopla was one of my best H's last year. It had fewer buds than the previous year, but still did pretty well in a generally bad year for daylilies.

Heavenly Snow White always does well. I didn't get a photo of it last season, so here's one from a previous year.

Harvest Moth doesn't have a lot of buds here, but it looks pretty in a clump.

Poor Hoopla is still in a pot? That one is from your trip a few years ago, is it not? It seems to have rich color and good size. How is Dearest Mahogany doing?

Heavenly Snow White has much better height than Angel Ice.

Heavenly Hidden Treasures is a good one here. Her Best Bloomers looks like a very bright color.

So many Heavenlys here, and I suspect, elsewhere too. Tiger Tails. United We Stand.

Also Starfire--bold in the earlier garden, though not a rapid grower. All recommendations.

Handwriting on the Wall multiplies well and has a nice eyezone.

Heman has been an important hybridizing plant, I see. Good height and vigor.

Hiding Place is nice, but so far, not vigorous enough to warrant a recommendation.

Beautiful clump shot of Heavenly Snow White and the clump shot of Heman. I have a few toothies on order that have Heman as a parent so pleased to see it's good plant habits.

Here are mine:

HAPPY IS THE HEART, makes the list every year. Very TALL back of garden plant, sturdy and thick scapes, always seems to be in bloom, flowers larger here than registered. For comparison purposes, that is Tetrina's Granddaughter (yellow) behind it and that one is tall. This photo was taken last summer when we were in a SEVERE DROUGHT. She will have even better stats when there's adequate rainfall. I cannot water my gardens as we have our own well.

HIGH WATER MARK, always excellent, lush plant, blooms very well, fertile both ways

HOLIDAY IN CAMBODIA, wonderful Hanson, amazing color and even though it's only been here a couple of years, I load it up with pods and it flourishes. The drought didn't faze it.

HATHAWAY COTTAGE, an underappreciated Moldovan, always give a great show; rock hardy and well-budded.

HONEY, I SHRUNK THE CAT....Ok, this one isn't to everyone's tastes, kind of quirky and fun though...but if you want a plant that will clump up quickly, blooms early and long, fuss-free, fertile and hardy....this one's for you.

BTW, I wanted to mention why I don't share many clump shots, mostly close-ups. I sell seeds on the Lily Auction so my photos are mostly of single blooms.

Celeste - Lovely photo of High Water Mark! I forgot about that one since I didn't photograph it last year. Yours looks more purple and taller than mine. It always blooms when we are very hot and it looks pink lavender here.

Mantis - Last year was only the second season here for Hoopla. Hopefully I will get it in the ground this Spring. Dearest Mahogany and Porterhouse were ones I got on that Region 10 trip 3.5 years ago. DM is still in a pot and has never multiplied since I got it. I plan for it to go in a raised bed I am redoing this Spring. Perhaps it will do better then. I got Porterhouse in the ground the second year I had it, and it has multiplied some, but not great. It's the dormants that tend to languish in pots for years because they survive there. I always plant the evergreens in the ground immediately, the semi-evegreens next, and the dormants last. Because Hoopla is so tall (supposedly 40 inches), it's been hard to find a place to put it. It does multiply in its pot. I'm getting rid of Bela Lugosi and Joan Derifield to make spaces for Hoopla and Isabelle Rose. More than half of my backyard is in shade now, so for anything I add, something good must go. And my seedlings get the best sun exposure.

Sherry, another good, awful joke! I think that is your best group so far. I really like Happy Happy and Heavenly Hidden Treasure. I suspect they would be much lighter here due to the heat, but they are gorgeous.

Debra, Hoopla really looks good and I like Heavenly Snow Ice.

Mantis I am happy to see that lovely clump of Heman. Mine had been languishing in shade for several years and I hope it will do much better without that shade.

Kay and Mantis - Handwriting on the Wall looks good in both your gardens! I've often thought of adding that one, but in the endI never do because of its height. In recent years, I've tended to want daylilies that are at least 28 inches tall. The front of my borders are full and I don't want to get rid of any of my shorter ones.

Hot Wheels is not only reliable but gives many days of super shows. It is even in a kinda shady spot and I've not split it or anything for a looong time.

The only other H that I have is Hyperion. It does well for a neighbor but only fair for me. And I've even tried different spots. I even got a piece of my neighbor's clump and it too did mediocre. It has 2 saving graces: it smells so good, and it is my oldest daughter's favorite. She doesn't even like other yellows at all.

Brad: Interesting about your Hyperion experience. I've had the same thing happen on other plants. I'd sometimes pass one on to a neighbor after a less then stellar performance in my garden and they would do better for her. Plants, like people, do their own thing.......Sherry: That's a really good picture of Happy Happy. Always enjoy seeing it.......I don't know what Hanson was thinking to name such a pretty daylily after a country that produced The Killing Fields (movie). From what I hear that area is still no walk in the park for many. I prefer High Water Mark which is a very pretty one.........Mantis: Heavenly Dragon Fire is a scorcher. I like it.......Kay: Handwriting on the Wall is a gorgeous clump......Debra: Hoopla would certainly draw attention in bloom.......My only H is Honky Tonk Barbie. I wanted to 'second' a couple of nominations. I didn't include these since we're trying to limit to 5 choices but I agree these two are worthy:

HEART OF GLASS

HOLIDAY PARTY, always covered in blooms; I've divided it numerous times and it rebounds quickly and clumps up fast. I'm not crazy for doubles but I've kept this one because of it's performance.

Mine is always orange like in Mantis' photo but with the drought last summer it wasn't as vibrant

I am glad Mantis shared his picture of HONEY ON MY LIPS. That was going to be one that I would have posted. It is a fantastic plant. I also grow HEMAN and HANDWRITING ON THE WALL. I agree with the previous comments about those two plants.

I only have one to add.

HARPER'S BAZAAR: This is a great al around plant. Well budded and blooms over a long period of time.

Lots of nice H daylilies here. I like Harper's Bazaar (we have it but it's in a bad location), Hot Wheels, Heavenly Hidden Treasure, and Holiday in Cambodia.

Here are my H daylilies.

Heavenly Christmas Cactus always puts on a show.

We haven't had Heavenly United We Stand very long, but I think it's going to be a great daylily.

Hell on Heels is a great daylily for the later garden--lots of blooms.

I included Hip Hop Music because it is doing well for us even though it is southern bred. It hasn't increased much, but it blooms every year on a decent scape. We love the teeth.

Hot Buttered Rum is a late bloomer that really put on a show last season.It is one of our intros.
