Hosta M 2022 .....................

Today is a playoff day for the Jaguars. For some reason this does stress me out. It means so many perks for this city. Heck I just like being #1. So today is M day in the hosta world. Show us your #1 Ms:

and because I know everybody loves them

Have a great day everyone!

Paula, I love all the animal jokes today….. I happen to be one hosta grower who doesn’t hate squirrels 🐿
    Sometimes I even feed them…..omg ☺️

Gary, love Milkmaid…… I am wondering how old it is and if the streaking is relatively stable over time?

Saija, nice color on your Mango Smothie and I love the shape of it…..looks like it keeps the shape throughout the season.

Hosta_maker, the blue on Mr Blue is so pretty….. how does it morf into MB f1? What cool flowers you are showing to us! Not everyone appreciates them, but I am one who does.

Gardengoon, Morning Star has such nice twisty leaves. I am finding that it’s a characteristic I’m drawn to more and more.

Nicholsworth, I truly appreciate seeing your garden and the birds….. you must get plenty of them.👍🏽

Old_dirt, Majesty is quite lovely and similar to Liberty somewhat……it looks taller, more vase shaped…. are there other differences?

Peren, your Maui Buttercups is really pretty …… mine was shrinking over the last few years. I moved it and hope that does the trick. Now, mice….. your Montana Aureomarginata has a nice size….I tried this one and it died…… sigh

debra, Milkmaid is only a couple of years old, but the "streaking" seems to be stable.

Deb thats a mcwilliams seedling. this spring cut the white eye off to keep the streaks going. if they gett to much white, no chlorophyl no energy to grow.

blushing pollen is powerfull, enough to tranform blue to green, it can also completely change the flower too.

Debra nice Magic Island and I like Mouse Trap. I hope your MB likes its new home.

hosta_maker glad you clarified since McMilan was not in the HL. Wow Debra McWilliams is lovely, it would be a shame if it reverted. It would worth another go at m. A. It is a favorite.

    debra..how nice!..thanks for the compliment..🙂

you aren’t the only one feeding squirrels..🤦‍♀️

I hate squirrels in the summer..but last week this one was cute..

    your hosta collection is big!..

That is one healthy, happy and content squirrel Ann. The birds & squirrels certainly get an interesting diet, cookies and popcorn lol!

Love the red squirrels……we only get gray ones, though they are just as fat and cute!

Laurie..I gave away my birdfeeder..the squirrels ate most of the food 🙁..several neighbors have feeders..I was hoping the squirrels would visit THOSE homes..😂

my husband has a big heart..he feels bad not to give them treats when they come up..so he buys nuts..

our birds like popcorn and oatmeal cookies hahaha..

fyi..I deleted my strange looking crow in flight photo..it was too ugly Lol..

Beth..I think my Montana Aureomarginata would fit under yours..😂

Paula, I am with nw, I was rooting for the Jax the whole game….and so was my husband. So sorry they lost….my team lost before getting into the playoffs…… ☹️☹️☹️

Mbug, so many of your hostas look perfect! What is your secret, or did I ask you about this before? I mean, I don’t see one burn or slug munch or under performing plant in your photos……

Erin, that Monkey Business is really nice and love the shape and color of Marilyn Monroe. Beautiful leaf edging….

Beth, your MM is also beautiful, but has a different coloration than Erin’s……interesting … also love your mice…..I also plant mine in the ground……so many others have them in pots. If I did that I would have to overwinter them. That makes me nervous…

Debra, my Marilyn Monroe was in a lot of sun last summer, since I had a tree fall down.  I am guessing that might need the color difference.

Interesting, I actually like the lighter color better…… it seems to show the contrast in the leaf edge color better.

Oh my word they lost. It was a great dream to come from 0 to be a contender. Next year. Superbowl bound with Laurance! Go Jags. There is no party left in Jacksonville tonight.

Hi debra......the secret is to only post pictures of the good ones...LOL! (I take lots of pictures, too)

I really like how many varied pics of same hosta I see, some younger ones some older, some potted. Will be studying them all as spring starts. My goal this year is to label as much as I can.

Lousy pic of great plant, my most 'spensive hosta. Montana Moonshine.

I am really hoping darn thing will make it.
