We're redoing our bathroom and I made the BIG mistake on assuming that the old floor tile was 24x24. I knew I wanted a square tile and for whatever reason did not think to ask if the tile I liked came in smaller square sizes, like 16's or 18's.
Returning the tile has been a painful process so I'm wondering if I can make it work. I would like to do a checkerboard (harlequin) pattern. My concern is if the tile size will work, or if it'll look too choppy and lose its design / look with too many cuts. Especially going into the toilet room.

Worst case scenario, I can do a diamond pattern in one of the colors but I don't want to give up on my harlequin dreams! Please advise!
