I feel the small table is over accessorized/too busy. Less is more impactful (see below) and your dancer print will also be more appreciated. Just use the blue jar and place the others elsewhere (but not side by side, as their styles and shapes are not working well visually).

In regards to art, I’d replace the top picture with with something that connects with your print and the jar.

Simple is more interesting in the end.

I like those pieces of art, but maybe not there. I think something with some blue would look better as it would relate to the blue and white jar.

You asked about the chest area, but I would like to suggest that a less functional looking and more decorative light fixture would enhance the space. The Lamps Plus website might be a good plac e to start. Select “Ceiling lights” from the menu in upper left then “flush mount” then “filter” on upper right to select color, style, etc. Everything I have purchased from them is excellent quality and a wide range of prices.

I agree that there is too much going on. First, your mermaid seems far too close to the edge of that small chest, and it takes up way too much space. I understand the need (or desire) for something for your loose change, but that glass piece does not work with the lovely blue jar; the shape and style are not compatible or complementary. It is a small, narrow wall there, so don't overdo it. Good luck.

Agree with your assessment of the space & some of the suggestions. On table top I do think mermaid and covered change jar should be moved. I see something on mantel around the corner - something round & milk glass maybe? Is it an item that can sit next to the pretty blue covered dish? Maybe just try the dish on its own so it can shine. Love the brass piece above the double doors (closet?) Looks like a ceiling light piece. I like the repeat of gold color in the top framed picture. Is the art in the frame something special or could you find art with a very simple theme and a white background - the white background to tie into the white matt on dancer art. My sense is you have a love of vintage so maybe browse vintage stores for art cards to place in the frame.

@Kelly Kashian I think it looks so much more substantial on its own! It isn’t competing with other items that really aren’t related to it. I understand your feeling but think it’s the change itself that’s creating it. Sort of like having long hair cut off & looking at yourself with suddenly short hair - maybe a bad analogy but all that comes to mind just now. It would be nice if it were a bit taller / larger but it still is pretty on its own. I’d let it stay as is for awhile & see how you feel in a day or two. Experiment with other things you might have that are tall & slim, maybe white or brassy / gold to accompany this piece. I’m wondering about a gold or brass tray - if very small it could sit next to it or if large & sized for the top this piece could sit on it. I’m thinking of the gold / brass to connect with that frame above, the piece over double doors & the ring around your ceiling light fixture.

I think there is a bit too much of a gap between the top of the chest and the bottom of the dancing women frame. I would lower the existing art (or add a third piece of art, or use something taller on the chest).

I would tie the two art pieces together by using the same frames and matting for each- and lower them as others suggested.

@Kelly Kashian reading last posted comments about lowering art - they might be right - a bit hard to tell. The top art shouldn’t be higher than eye level at about its mid point. You don’t want to have to lean down to see either art piece. But if lowered, even just a couple inches, the jar piece on chest might look better to you.

Love your dancing women piece. Place it in a gold frame also. Move the glass jar out of the way as it doesn't fit the theme as well. The mermaid is lovely but doesn't fit the look. Your blue & white porecelain box can become the new place to put your keys & change. It is a lovely stand alone piece. Add a green plant in a gold vase next to it. Your carpeted entry could use some color. Look for an entry rug that compliments your pieces, in blue & gold perhaps? The 3rd door that is not panelled needs to be the same color as the other doors. It looks different in color, perhaps because of the lighting? or texture?

I wonder if you put the blue bowl on some books, if that might do it ? The gap would be less, and the bowl would have a little bit more heft? I love the 2 framed pictures.

I like the framed art on the wall - perhaps if you echoed the gold leaf in something on the stand below...?

Have you tried a trio? Three pictures all being the same size as the 3 dancing ladies. This means you might need to remove the cabinet.

Art is too high and spacing between the two is too wide. See if adjustments help, but I recommend larger art placed on the bottom that connects with the jar and the dancers, and creates better balance.

I can't believe I am saying this as an artist, but I think a tall brass framed mirror would be more useful in the entry way as this is your drop zone. I like both pieces of art but if they are displayed together the frames should be unified. Easiest way would be to paint the black frame gold or brass to tie to the other brass fixtures. You could get a larger mat and frame for flower to make both frames the same width. Then you could put the dancers on the top to be at eye level. They have lighter line weight and the flower has heavier color which would be better on the bottom. Maybe a plant as in Maureen's photo could fill the gap between art and the jar, or elevate jar on stack of books or a box.

I agree with some of the other comments. I think the 2 frames should be the same (maybe lower them a bit), and add something tall and skinny to the blue covered jar. Something like this:
