Hi Melinda, mixing metals is just fine. Most typically, my clients choose stainless steel when they go with a copper hood. You can also select a rubbed bronze, that that adds one more metal in that dishwashers, microwaves, frigs, etc., are most commonly stainless steel. I have seen black but it's not my favorite look unless it's a statement look. When I do a hood, I often will add a component of metal such as stainless into the decorative trim to tie things together. Let me know if you would like more information.
