Hosta t 2022 ..............

Did you know that yesterday was 2.3.23. And that we only have 44 days till spring. Spring is here for me. I saw the purple trees and they mean it is here. Other trees are loaded with red buds of promise. And my nose, breathing is so over-rated!

Lets get down to hostas. I believe they are allergy free. Show us some:

Have a great day everyone!

Lol Paula except to the allergies.

Beth very nice Thunder Bolt & TEC.

old_dirt Twilight looks good there, pity it gets tatty late season.

Sally I feel for you. It was -43C that is -45F with the wind chill this a.m. In a couple of days it will be above freezing. Crazy weather. I adore Teaspoon. What a nice TF.

hosta_maker I have never seen ruffles like that on Titanic.

for awhile i had to buy mulitiple montana a

just to get a true one. this one was not, kept it anyways.

Paula, all of those jokes really made me laugh this morning……like many others, I look forward to them 😂😂😂😂😂

Beth, what a wonderful Thunderbolt!! I HAD one…..that’s another story ☹️ I wonder if you posted the wrong photo——your picture of TOC doesn’t seem to be one. TOC is medio-variegated…..pretty sure. Love that Tracy’s Emerald Cup, so green, cupped and beautiful!

    Old_dirt, very very nice Twight!

Gardengoon and peren, what stunning Teaspoons……I think I must get that…..how does it do in sun??
Also Sally, gorgeous Tok Flav! Such beautiful blue and green!

Hosta_maker, I like the color and shape of the leaves on Tom Terrific. Also, that Twilight Seedling is lovely!

Laurie, The King is so nice…. love the streaking in the margin! Nice Tropical Dancer…..kinda looks like it’s dancing. This one is new to me.

gary, I am a sucker for yellow (and blue, green, green & white, blue & green…..you get my drift),anyway Tickle Me Pink is o pretty, does it turn chartreuse later in the summer? Also, that Tenryu picture has made me happy I ordered it!

Thanks debra. It's a Gold Drop sport so stays relatively small, and it blooms with a ton of flowers.

gary your Tenryu is stunning. Mine has been so slooooooow

Paula..I go for simple recipes too..Lol..

Laurie..isn’t Teaspoon supposed to be small? 😂..yours is gorgeous..love Tropical Dancer..and the boulder behind it..

Touch of Class is popular!..I should get one..

no pic to post but my Twilight looks blue compared to all of yours..there are some pics in the hosta library that resemble mine..

    Tiny Tears..

I have a Tokudama Aureonebulosa tag..

could be the mismatched set (one is short and one med) with light centers near the center of the pic?..

I think the bottom left corner is a June..

    love Tenryu garyz and mbug..

Gary I agree Tenyru is very nice.

hosta_maker Thanks for that info on Titanic. TC can be a boon or a bust in some cases, definitely a boon in the case of yours.

Debra yes you need a Teaspoon! Mine gets sun until around 3:00 but it is on the sun tolerant list. I hope your Tattoo responds this year. If I recall it is quite new to you and not known for being a fast grower. I like the colouring on Teatime!

mbug gorgeous as always but Tom Schmid is wonderful. It certainly makes sense that Tick Tock would be a great grower and floriferous being a GD sport. I like it very much.

Ann Teaspoon is a small to medium, 11x24. Yours could be TA but better to hear from those that grow it. Tiny Tears is so cute!

Debra, I think you are correct the hosta I have as touch of class is not touch of class.  It is the hosta I received as touch of class though.... Now I wonder what hosta it is.  I will have to name it so I can keep track of it.

Shadow lovely plants! T Rex is going to get large! So happy you have Teaspoon.

Oh beth, sorry to be the bringer of bad news……when we do NOIDS, post it there. I am surprised no one else caught that…..I mean, I’m no expert, but I have TOC …..

My #1 favorite Hosta even though it hasn't really increased for me. It will be split and 1/2 moved to hopefully a better location this year. I love the tall, vase shape that shows off the legs. And the ruffled edges are a big plus. Have I mentioned that I like the green-on-green look? This adds a color changing margin, but not just a single change. It comes up yellow, goes to medium green, then to lime green and finishes with a brighter yellow and green cream edge with overlays streaking in to middle. I didn't get any pics of the early yellow edge last year. I need to take more pics of it this coming year. So here's a May pic from 2021:

and after the edge turns green

    then lime green

    and the finale:

I've finally got The Queen on order this year and I'm hoping for a similar display right next to it.

Steve- Thanks for that info of The King, I bought one in 2022. I can't wait to see the transformation. I , too, love seeing the change and the leggy hosta.

Steve, that King is quite a hosta! shadow, yours will get there!

    debra

Hopefully, yours will increase faster than mine. It did make a jump the first year then stalled.

    A few more Ts.
