Shower curtain advice

  • I am remodelling an old bathroom and unfortunately there was not room for a separate tub and shower. I do not like taking a bath with shower doors, it feels too closed in. At my last house we had hinged, glass doors that folded to the back wall. But apparently they are no longer made. So I have a dilemma and I am considering a shower curtain. And although they look nice in photos, I have never been a curtain fan because it seems like they never really dry. They are always unsightly hanging, drawn, in the tub to dry off. The vinyl gets mineral deposit spots and the bathroom takes on a mildewy plastic smell. I don’t want to be throwing away a liner every few months, that seems wasteful. Perhaps my previous bad curtain experiences were due to purchasing the wrong type of curtains or not maintaining properly. Can someone give me a lesson on shower curtains?
