I would not do either of those. Your counter and tub surround are a very specific marble with a lot of blue in them. I think adding a second marble is going to clash. Why not have the marble you just installed be the star of the show and use another kind of surface for your shower and floors? Marble in showers is also very prone to water stain and discoloration. Are you cool with that?

Thanks Kendrah! We’ve looked at a lot of porcelain and ceramic tiles in white, cream & blue-gray. They all seem so opaque next to the quartzite and not very subtle. The two marbles we’re looking at are not patterned so thought they would go well and not compete. This is our master bath so we are ok dealing with the care needed for marble. Do you have any recommendations on the type of tile you think would go well? Thanks again!

Maybe you are right then Susan. Have you brought the sample boards home and held them marble up directly against the quartz? Do you have pics of that? The two don't look all that different to me. The second one seems to have more grey in it so I might go with that so it isn't as stark of a contrast with the quartz.

Well ,on my screen the calcutta doesn't come across so bossy so that's what I chose. It's not competing so much with the star in the room

I like the idea of a quiet, calm matte handmade tile; in addition to those mentioned in the post above, you might look at Pratt and Lambert and Encore Ceramics. I love marble, but think it’s a bit too much here to add to the beautiful stone of your tub and the counter/ sink combination. Less is more; give the eye a place to rest.
