for me its what looks like three wall colors! I might paint the island cabinets to match the back side, paint the walls, add curtains to the window. Add hardware to the cabinets. Pendant lights would work really well in this space.

If you're keeping the backsplash, I'd go for a dark gray-green; similar in tone to the backsplash, but darker.

This color might work very well. But don't go by the computer monitor. Get samples before you buy.

Keep in mind, Brazilian cherry floors will darken relatively quickly. I loved mine in my old house. My favorite wood floors!

Thank you all for your suggestions! We will try out the different green / gray colors that you have suggested and go from there.

If we were to change the backsplash, I am just curious as to what color backsplash and cabinet color would look best for brazilian cherry floors and our kitchen setting.

Just so you know -- I have BM High Park in my kitchen area and regret it. It looks very grey and depressing much of the time. I can't wait to repaint. Make sure you test whatever color it it you're thinking about.

Don't change the backsplash. It's actually quite lovely! And to chime in on hardware, I agree a satin or antique brass would be nice, but so would matte black.

We will try Evergreen fog and other green shades and try the pulls that you guys recommended. Thank you for reassuring me that the current backsplash is good and all the great advice!

I would suggest holding off on painting any cabinets gray/green and on deciding whether to switch out the backsplash until you finalize whether the walls will remain taupe and until the current countertop is considered.

Our current counter top has black, gray and brown in it. We won't be able to paint the walls or change countertop, so trying to get the best look while working on the cabinet paint (and backsplash if needed) and other hardware accessories.

How is it you can paint the cabinets but not the wall? Painting the cabinets is much more final than a wall color.

Good question:), recently, we got all the walls painted white as we wanted the house to be bright. We did not think much about each detail then. If we start thinking of kitchen walls, we would have to consider living room walls too as it is an open concept floor plan and it would become a bigger project of painting walls that we just undertook.

So I thought we could start with just the kitchen and do the cabinet paint and other hardware changes that have been overdue.

@RL Relocation LLC you suggested to paint the island cabinets to match the back side - that means if we decide to paint all cabinets (top and bottom) with ever green fog (or another green), do you think the island wall facing the living room being white will not look good.

Your current counter top does have black, gray and brown, but it also has that foggy tone. B.M. Gray Cashmere would be my choice to work with the counters, floor and white walls.

I'm so curious to know what color you ended up with - could you share a photo? I have the same floors and am getting the same color cabinets for the island (cream for cabinets). Thanks!
