you can buy a motion light adaptor that screws into the socket then put the bulb in, you can also have them added to about any light with a small accessory part.

We gave up on motion lights. The night critters were constantly setting them off. Think strobe light effect. Now we use them as regular lights on a switch. We presently use a smaller spot light highlighting the front door area that is on a timer. It is set to come on at dark and off at midnight.
